Mitsubishi emissions compensation action

A member of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, Mitsubishi has become implicated in the emissions scandals following long-held suspicions and recent investigations by German prosecutors. Like a number of other major car manufacturers, Mitsubishi is suspected of allegedly using a form of defeat device in its diesel vehicles as a means of cheating emissions tests. We have launched a Mitsubishi emissions compensation action to further pursue the allegations and take on claims for the potentially affected owners. We represent owners pursuing legal cases with us on a No Win, No Fee basis.

In 2015, the Volkswagen “dieselgate” scandal hit the headlines, with allegations that the manufacturer was guilty of emissions fraud. This subsequently gave way to a series of similar accusations against other reputed carmakers. Now, many manufacturers have been claiming that they were working towards a more eco-friendly future of vehicle production, when in fact they may have allegedly been in breach of emissions standards.

Any car manufacturers who have breached emissions regulations may have consequently broken consumer law. If it is found that Mitsubishi owners were deceived regarding the emissions output of their vehicles, they may be able to recover thousands of pounds in compensation. As things stand, they deny that they have committed any wrongdoing at all.

What is Mitsubishi accused of?

Since as early as 2016, Mitsubishi has been the subject of alleged concerns relating to potential emissions fraud when the company reportedly admitted to falsifying data about the fuel efficiency of its vehicles. In the allegations, Mitsubishi was said to have been allegedly over-inflating tyres, allowing it to produce more favourable results in testing.

However, scrutiny mounted on Mitsubishi more recently when it was alleged that the manufacturer may have engaged in the use of defeat devices in its diesel vehicles. It was revealed in early 2020 that Mitsubishi was under investigation by German prosecutors, who had raided various offices across the country.

Our Mitsubishi emissions compensation action

We have been pursuing claims against Nissan and Renault, the two other members of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, for a long time, and we are also committed to our investigations for our Mitsubishi emissions compensation action. Based on current evidence and allegations, we believe that Mitsubishi may have deceived its customers regarding the NOx output of its diesel vehicles. If the allegations are proven, the affected owners could be in line to receive thousands of pounds in compensation.

In addition to being awarded pay-outs for alleged deceit, claimants could also recover compensation for a number of other breaches. For example, we may be able to apply the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations, which could entitle claimants to receive compensation equal to between 25-100% of the purchase price of their vehicles.
