Bright red flags are being waved in America after the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) alleged that VW employees may have erased or ‘lost’ 23 mobile phones of ‘key employees.’

I don’t want to jump the gun here, but that’s very suspicious behaviour; especially with the criminal probe in full swing.

In the midst of a closing $14.7 billion settlement deal across the pond, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is obtaining approval from a federal judge to question the VW Group further in relation to evidence.

This is following allegations that the automaker deliberately destroyed documents in relation to the diesel scandal which, if found to be true, could have monumental consequences for the German automotive giants.

VW’s $15 billion settlement offer for their cheating in the emissions testing back in September last year has been approved in the U.S. courts.

“VW Under Pressure” – EU officials call for a similar settlement made in the U.S., for EU victims

Although the German car giants Volkswagen have admitted manipulating emissions management through the so-called “defeat device”, they have yet to provide compensation to affected vehicle owners in the EU area.

EU authorities have been in talks with Member States to discuss tactics to force a pay-out from VW, and we represent thousands of affected owners here in the UK, and we’re working with European lawyers on certain collaborative solutions.
