It’s August. This means we’re now two months away from the VW Group Action deadline that falls in October this year.
For anyone who has yet to start their claim for compensation against VW as a victim of the massive “dieselgate” scandal of 2015, time really is of the essence. Although the formal Court deadline falls at the end of October 2018, the deadline for lawyers accepting claims is set to fall in advance of the final Court deadline.

There’s now just 90 days left to make your Volkswagen emissions claim, but lawyers’ books for new claims are set to close in advance of the deadline.
It’s 90 days until the Court-imposed deadline, but Claimants wishing to join the massive action that we’re on the Steering Committee for must have their cases fully prepared in order to be able to join the action and benefit from any settlement that takes place in the future. Failing to join in time will likely mean you will be unable to make a claim at all, based on prior experience of Claimants missing Group Litigation Order deadlines.
If you’re serious about claiming, take action now.
We’re now less than 100 days until the Volkswagen claim deadline falls. The deadline for accepting claims will fall BEFORE the above Court deadline.
The Court-imposed deadline is essentially the final deadline for claims to be submitted to be a part of the massive legal action in England and Wales that we’re on the Steering Committee for. Although the Court deadline is now less than 100 days away, the actual deadline for your claim to be accepted and prepared will fall well in advance of the court deadline.
This means that, if you have yet to start your claim, you must get on with it ASAP to avoid missing the Volkswagen claim deadline.
Finally, Volkswagen admits responsibility for the diesel crisis and is fined €1bn by Germany; an outcome that has a huge impact on UK victims.
The fine that has been reportedly issued by public prosecutors is for Volkswagen’s criminal role for intentionally using illegal defeat devices in the 8 million or so vehicles affected in Europe.
The admission of responsibility is big news for UK victims because defeat devices are illegal under British and European law. By admitting responsibly in Europe, the path to justice for UK Volkswagen Group owners just got a whole lot easier.
The VW class action case really matters if we are to fight air pollution and improve air quality in the UK. Our urban areas are in such a state that some reportedly hit annual limits at the start of 2018; Brixton being one of them. Remarkably, this was apparently an improvement on the year before where it was breached in a week!
So, when we have one of the biggest companies in the world ignoring its corporate social responsibility and deciding to deliberately cheat emissions testing, we have to take it seriously, and we have to take action.
The VW class action we are on the Steering Committee for is designed to do just that.
With potentially two million people eligible to claim for Volkswagen emissions compensation in the UK, some people who have yet to secure their place are asking: should I join the class action lawsuit against VW?
One of the most important things for you to know is that the clock is ticking, and the deadlines are set. If you are yet to sign-up to our Claimant Group, and you are serious about claiming, you need to take action NOW.
Time really is of the essence, and there are many good reasons for signing up to the class action against VW.

Will Volkswagen settle the emissions claims against them on the eve of trial?
In the UK and Europe, VW is refusing compensation to owners affected by their “dieselgate” scandal, despite the huge settlements they have agreed to in the US. Earlier this year, VW settled another case that was set for trial, and they reportedly did it on the eve of the case going to court.
Although we’re behind the US cases because the legal systems here in the UK are different, will we see a similar situation where VW settle the claims on the cusp of trial?
It’s possible.

We’re lawyers who have been leading the fight for justice since the breaking of the ‘dieselgate’ scandal back in 2015, so a few people out there who are yet to start their claim may not take our word for it as to why they need to join the action now.
You should listen to our advice, though.
There have already been a number of hearings and a number of changes in how client groups are moving forward, and we have changed our options for claiming several times to reflect changes in the litigation as well.
Here are a few reasons as to why if you don’t bother to start your claim now could soon spell the end of your chances completely…

The next big hearing is set to take place at the end of March 2018, and this hearing may well trigger the deadline date for claimants to join the Volkswagen Emissions Action and claim their compensation as a victim of the “dieselgate” scandal.
The court will normally set the final date, and if you miss the deadline, you may be unable to claim any compensation at all. Having been involved in previous actions where some people simply left it too late, they ended up being unable to claim tens of thousands of pounds in compensation.
Our advice is simple: do NOT delay and claim NOW!
