Since the Volkswagen “dieselgate” scandal hit the headlines in 2015, a number of other carmakers have been subjected to accusations of emissions fraud. Fiat Chrysler emissions are under scrutiny over allegations suggesting that the FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) Group could be involved in the use of illegal defeat devices as a means of cheating emissions tests. Like other carmakers, they strongly deny that this is the case.
In our view, the ongoing diesel emissions scandals could represent one of biggest violations of consumer rights ever seen, with potentially millions of car owners who could be affected internationally. We immediately saw that the Volkswagen scandal had breached the trust invested in the company by so many customers, and so we initiated High Court action against the company in January 2016 soon after the allegations hit the headlines.
Having played a pioneering role in the Volkswagen Group Litigation Order (GLO) case, we now want to ensure that all those affected by emissions scandals have a chance to claim compensation. Our experience has given us the strength to hold huge corporations to account. Pursuing group actions, we bring the strength of numbers to our fight against carmakers. You can find out if you are eligible for a Fiat Chrysler claim today via our online form here now.
Since 2015, there have been many allegations against carmakers regarding the emissions produced by diesel cars, with a number of manufacturers being accused of deliberately manipulating vehicles to cheat emissions tests using defeat device technology. It is alleged that many of the accused carmakers made use of technology that could amount to a defeat device in order to covertly bypass emissions standards.
Many consumers will have heard of the Volkswagen “dieselgate” scandal, but they may not know exactly how the well-known brand was seemingly able to get away with producing such huge amounts of dangerous emissions. Volkswagen was the first carmaker to be implicated in the 2015 defeat devices scandals, and the allegations have since spread across the car manufacturing industry, suggesting that many more carmakers (if not all) may have made use of technology to cheat emissions regulations.
Your Lawyers, as one of the first firms to take on compensation claims for car owners affected by the Volkswagen scandal, are now investigating dozens of well-known car brands in relation to potential emissions cheating. We want to help as many affected car owners to claim as possible, and you can check your eligibility for a claim here now to see if you can benefit from our No Win, No Fee claims representation.
Carlos Ghosn has recently spoken out to deny responsibility for allegations over cheating emissions tests, following serious allegations against Renault. The former executive of the two car brands Renault and Nissan, as well as the ex-chief of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, reportedly fled Japan back in 2019 after he was arrested for the alleged misuse of company funds.
The controversy surrounding Ghosn’s exit from Japan was, however, not the subject of his public statement. He was understood to be being questioned by investigators in direct relation to the wider “dieselgate” scandals. The wave of allegations relating to emissions fraud began in 2015, when Volkswagen was first accused of using illegal defeat devices to manipulate emissions controls in its diesel vehicles.
Ghosn himself may have a lot to answer for given his prior status as the head of three well-known car brands, which have since been subjected to accusations of cheating. While unrelated, the Japanese charges against him certainly cast doubt over this, but it remains to be seen whether he, Renault, or Nissan are responsible for any wrongdoing. Allegations of cheating are being firmly denied.
Since the Volkswagen “dieselgate” scandal hit the headlines in 2015, many of the major carmakers have come under suspicion regarding the use of allegedly illegal software to cheat emissions tests. The allegations against Volkswagen surrounded the alleged installation of defeat devices in diesel vehicles in order to disguise the excessive production of nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions, and litigation has since proven that a number of allegations have been founded. Volvo is one of the companies we are also investigating, as allegations may mean that the affected owners could be eligible to make Volvo emissions compensation claims, if allegations are proven to be founded.
As pioneers of diesel emissions litigation in England and Wales, we were one of the first firms to bring claims against Volkswagen on behalf of our clients, and we played a role in initiating High Court proceedings against the manufacturer in early 2016. We want to ensure that any car manufacturers who may be responsible for allegedly cheating emissions are held to account, which is why we are taking on several group actions.
To ensure that as many people as possible can access the justice they deserve, we are offering No Win, No Fee compensation claims to all eligible claimants. Carmakers continue to strongly deny claims being made, so we intend to get to the bottom of the investigations at hand.
The wave of car emissions allegations that have hit the headlines in recent years affects dozens of models and hundreds of thousands of customers. The sheer scale of the dieselgate scandal prompted us to launch group actions against multiple car manufacturers, after being the first law firm in England and Wales to issue claims against Volkswagen in the High Court of Justice in January 2016, shortly after allegations first emerged in September 2015. It is vital that any affected car owners do not miss court deadlines for these group actions, or they could forfeit their chance to claim compensation.
It is imperative that any car manufacturers found to have cheated emissions tests incur the repercussions of their conduct, and our group actions can be the perfect opportunity to exercise justice. If you believe your car may have been affected, you can quickly confirm this right here on our website and register to claim today to make sure you do not miss out on the potentially huge compensation pay-outs we could see in any upcoming settlements.
Allegations of diesel emissions fraud have long been investigated in Europe following the revelation that Volkswagen had been manipulating emissions controls in its vehicles, cheating regulations. As the EU issues fines for emissions scandal culprits such as VW and BMW, questions have been raised about the impact on the wider car manufacturing industry and who else may also be involved in similar behaviour.
VW and BMW have been singled out in a recent antitrust investigation by the European Commission over claims that they had colluded with Daimler, the owner of the Mercedes-Benz brand. According to The Guardian, this was in relation to delaying the development of “emissions-cleaning technology” in their vehicles. Now, upon the conclusion of the investigation, the two companies have reportedly been hit with a total fine of €875m.
The findings of the investigation suggest that the three companies acted unlawfully. Many other well-known car brands have similarly been levelled with accusations of emissions fraud in the wake of the Volkswagen emissions scandal, so the conclusion of this EU investigation could be a sign of further penalties to come.
In 2015, Volkswagen hit the headlines in the infamous “dieselgate” scandal, in which the carmaker was accused of using illegal defeat device technology as a means of cheating emissions tests. But Volkswagen has since become just one among many car manufacturers to be subjected to such allegations, causing the scandal to soon become practically industry-wide. We are already taking on claims as part of our Vauxhall emissions compensation action, as we believe there is enough evidence to suggest that Vauxhall may similarly have breached emissions regulations.
If the allegations against Vauxhall are proven, and they remain denied at present, the company may have breached consumer law. If this is the case, the affected vehicle owners could be entitled to recover thousands of pounds in compensation. Anyone who thinks that their diesel car may have been affected by the emissions scandals can check their eligibility via our online form today.
Soon after the news of the “dieselgate” scandal broke, Your Lawyers – The Car Emissions Lawyers – were taking on claims for those affected. We anticipated that the case against Volkswagen could constitute one of the biggest consumer group actions ever seen in the UK, and we were later appointed to a key role in the Group Litigation Order (GLO), sitting on the Steering Committee. We also envisaged that other carmakers would need to be investigated, and emissions claimants can trust in our experience and expertise in this niche area of law.
The French emissions investigations into car manufacturers have reportedly expanded to include Fiat Chrysler Italy, alongside a number of other carmakers already being scrutinised over allegations of breaching emissions regulations. The recently reported inclusion of the Stellantis-owned FCA (Fiat Chrysler Automobiles) Italy is understood to have come this July, following reports in June which stated that Peugeot, Citroen, Renault, and Volkswagen are facing charges of emissions fraud by French prosecutors.
Since 2015, when the Volkswagen “dieselgate” scandal first emerged, a number of advances have been made in emissions investigations. The list of major carmakers accused of cheating emissions tests has grown in length, with many well-known brands being subjected to investigations across Europe and around the world.
As a specialist firm of consumer action lawyers, Your Lawyers played a key role in initiating the Volkswagen litigation in England and Wales, bringing compensation claims on behalf of affected customers. We now want to ensure that further carmakers are properly scrutinised for alleged emissions allegations, which is why we keep a close eye on any legal developments even when in other jurisdictions.
A Mercedes-Benz emissions settlement has been granted preliminary approval in a class action lawsuit in the USA. The agreement between Mercedes-Benz and law firms has reportedly been reached following consumer claims against the carmaker, which alleged that diesel vehicles had been fitted with systems that may have manipulated emissions. This could then allegedly allow them to produce amounts of Nitrogen oxide (NOx) gases that exceeded the legal limits.
The claim in the US case mirror allegations against Mercedes and its parent company Daimler which span across the globe, with millions of vehicles suspected of emissions irregularities. Many accusations against Mercedes have their origins in the Volkswagen “dieselgate” scandal from 2015, in which it emerged that the well-known manufacturer had been cheating emissions tests by means of illegal software known as defeat devices.
As pioneers of emissions litigation, we initiated the first High Court proceedings against Volkswagen in 2016 in England and Wales and have since been fighting to ensure that car owners affected by emissions scandals can recover the compensation they deserve. We believe that the Mercedes settlement in America bodes well for our own action against the company, so affected victims can sign up today if they want to join the fight for justice. They deny any wrongdoing here still, and claims are at a much earlier stage as investigations into allegations continue.
Since the Volkswagen ‘dieselgate’ scandal hit the headlines in 2015, many other car manufacturers have come under scrutiny regarding the emissions output of their diesel vehicles. Hyundai is one of a range of earlier carmakers to be subjected to allegations of excessive NOx (nitrous oxide) production, having reportedly been fined in 2014 over the fuel economy and carbon emissions of its cars. We are taking on Hyundai emissions compensation claims to ensure that all those who may have been affected by any alleged deceit relating to ‘dieselgate’ scandal types of issues can achieve justice.
As with others, the carmaker denies any wrongdoing. As advocates of consumer rights, it is important to us that all the emissions allegations against carmakers are thoroughly investigated in order for us to help as many affected customers as possible to achieve the justice that they deserve, where the law has been broken.
Soon after the news of the Volkswagen “dieselgate” scandal broke, carmaker after carmaker became implicated in the growing allegations of emissions fraud. Volkswagen was only the first of many well-known manufacturers to be accused not only of breaching emissions regulations, but also of deliberately cheating testing by means of illegal defeat device technology allegedly installed in their diesel vehicles. Having been subjected to similar allegations, Suzuki is also under suspicion, and we are investigating the carmaker as part of our Suzuki emissions compensation action.
As pioneers of emissions litigation, we were one of the first firms in England and Wales to formally take on diesel emissions claims against Volkswagen, and we were subsequently appointed to the Steering Committee responsible for the overall conduct of the VW Group Litigation Order (GLO). Using our unique expertise in emissions claims, we aim to ensure that all guilty carmakers are held to account, and that as many affected owners as possible can access the compensation that they deserve.
If you have been affected by the Suzuki diesel emissions allegations, you can sign up today to launch your No Win, No Fee compensation claim.
It was revealed in 2017 that PSA, the manufacturer of Peugeot and Citroen vehicles, was being investigated by French prosecutors after its offices had been raided. Under suspicion of cheating emissions tests, Peugeot became just one among many manufacturers to be scrutinised over the potential use of alleged defeat devices and excessive emissions output. If the vehicles are found to have broken regulations, claimants could be eligible to recover thousands of pounds in Peugeot emissions compensation. The carmaker, like others, denies any wrongdoing at all.
The “dieselgate” scandal shook the world when it was alleged in 2015 that Volkswagen’s diesel cars may have been fitted with technology that allowed them to pass emissions tests. Later, it was proven that these cars were producing volumes of NOx that exceeded the regulatory limits, which had gone unnoticed due to the use of defeat devices.
We were one of the first law firms to bring claims against Volkswagen in England and Wales, and we later played a key role in the litigation after we were appointed to the Steering Committee responsible for the overall conduct of the Group Litigation Order. Our experience in emissions litigation means that we have the expertise needed to take on your Peugeot compensation claim.
