Your Lawyers – The Car Emissions Lawyers – actively representing thousands of clients engaged in diesel emissions legal action in England and Wales.
We currently represent thousands of clients for cases on a No Win, No Fee basis as we pursue dozens of carmakers facing allegations that they may have engaged in behaviour to cheat emissions regulations.
As things stand, the legal actions have been going on for quite some time, but you may still be in time to join the action. We recommend that you contact us as soon as possible to find out if you are still eligible to claim. At any moment, there may be deadlines that stop you from being able to pursue a legal case, which you do not want to miss out on.
The history of the diesel emissions legal action dates back to 2015 when media reports emerged that Volkswagen had allegedly been using so-called “defeat devices” to cheat emissions regulations. This event triggered the first “Dieselgate” scandal, and we always felt right from the start that more carmakers could be involved in similar behaviour.
Although it started with Volkswagen, dozens of other vehicle manufacturers across the world are also facing similar allegations that they may have engaged in behaviour that could cheat emissions regulations. Emissions regulations are hugely important to protect human health and protect our environment, so any behaviour that seeks to circumvent vital legislation like this cannot go unpunished.
The first court action in England and Wales in respect of emissions legal action was against Volkswagen. Since then, several other group cases have been launched against other manufacturers, such as Mercedes, Nissan, Renault, BMW, and others.
Car manufacturers continue to deny that they have done anything wrong. Investigations will get to the bottom of any allegations made and make sure that justice is served in the event that a carmaker has engaged in cheating behaviour.
You could be eligible to join a diesel emissions legal action if you own or lease, or previously owned or leased, a vehicle from a manufacturer that is alleged to have engaged in cheating emissions regulations. Whilst we cannot say for certain who may be able to succeed with their compensation claim, you can use our eligibility checker on a website here to find out if you are able to join one of the live actions that we are currently pursuing.
For eligible clients, we may be able to represent you on a No Win, No Fee basis. This means we can write off our legal fees if the case does not succeed, subject to the agreed terms and conditions in place.
We are Your Lawyers – The original Car Emissions Lawyers. We were one of the first firms in England and Wales – if not the first firm – to formally retain clients for compensation cases. When other firms were simply registering people’s interest, we were actively pursuing real live cases.
We were the first firm in England and Wales to issue High Court proceedings in January 2016. We were also appointed to the steering committee for the first Group Litigation Order (GLO) action against Volkswagen. We continue to represent thousands of people for claims against dozens of carmakers as we seek truth and justice in respect of allegations of cheating emissions.
