We’re acting for thousands of people affected by the Volkswagen emissions cheat device scandal, and we’re receiving copies of the latest letter sent to those affected with an update on the progress of the recall.
Although our action is running separately to the recall, as we’re going for compensation for those who have been affected by the emissions scandal, we’re of course keeping a very close eye on how the recall is going.
The latest update and statements from Volkswagen UK are in…

In the initial statement from Volkswagen UK, which is still visible on their site, they said:
“We have broken the most important part in our vehicles: your trust.
Now, our number one priority is winning back that trust.”Volkswagen UK
So, now that we’re in the second quarter of 2016, when is the recall that was supposed to start in January 2016 actually happening?
Truth be told, we have no idea!

Despite all of this, and despite the fact that the law is (in our minds) very clear in terms of the responsibility that Volkswagen has to compensate people, they are refusing to offer victims affected by their cheat devices any compensation at all.
So what does this mean for the victims?

First, they said they would look at compensation for UK victims; and then they did a u-turn and have since tried to suggest that the values of vehicles affected by the emissions scandal have not lost any value at all.
As compensation looks likely in the USA, victims here in the UK are left uncertain as the UK wing of the German car giants at the centre of the scandal seem adamant in denying UK victims compensation.
As our action grows stronger and stronger every day, our clients concerns about the value of their vehicles are entirely justified.

Since the Volkswagen Scandal broke at the end of September, our compensation lawyers have been working round the clock to help victims who have vehicles fitted with emissions cheating defeat devices. Our legal action is well underway – and as far as we’re aware, other firms are still just registering people’s information.
We’re not registering information. We’re aware lawyers are claiming to be acting for thousands of people yet it is believed they haven’t actually initiated any claims at all.
We on the other hand are taking cases on; and right now, we are already actually acting for thousands of clients who have instructed us to pursue their claim.
Thousands of people are a part of our growing action which is expanding by huge numbers daily, and we’re currently offering all of our clients a Genuine No Win, No Fee offer.

We said that more and more would come out of the woodwork as time goes by, but this latest development in the Volkswagen emissions scandal has left our legal team and commenting clients in shock.
Questioning of bosses in the US has revealed that chiefs are blaming a small number of software engineers who are responsible for the defeat devices, with motives that remain unknown. They admit it’s hard to believe, and we agree – it’s very hard to believe indeed!
So the latest is that a small number of ‘rogue engineers’ have decided to do this off their own backs, without the knowledge of bosses. How on earth can we be expected to believe such things?

There is growing speculation that the Volkswagen Group – which includes Audi, SEAT, and Skoda – is not the only car manufacturing giant hiding a secret. Since the breaking of the news that Volkswagen have been fitting defeat devices in to vehicles to cheat emissions testing, many car owners are concerned that their own brand may also be hiding something.
So which car maker is next? Some have already spoken out and stated they do not use ‘defeat devices’ but given the scale of this scandal, how can we be convinced?

The Volkswagen HQ in Germany has been raided by prosecutors as part of the criminal investigations following the revelations that the Volkswagen Group have been fitting ‘defeat devices’ in to diesel engines to cheat fuel emission testing.
These sophisticated devices are coded to know when the vehicle is undergoing testing to only switch on emissions controls during any perceived test period. With around 11 million vehicles worldwide affected, the scandal is widening, and more is emerging about just how far back the bosses at VW have known.

Car giant Volkswagen, who have been installing defeat devices in millions of cars worldwide, have now confirmed that the recalls in the UK will start in January 2016.
Around 1.2 million cars in the UK alone are fitted with the devices that can detect when the car is undergoing testing and switch on the engines emissions controls only during test conditions. Outside of test conditions the cars are emitting around 40 times more pollutants.
We have been inundated with concerned victims who have joined our group action – here’s the latest from our Car Emissions Team.
