Since the Volkswagen ‘dieselgate’ scandal hit the headlines in 2015, many other car manufacturers have come under scrutiny regarding the emissions output of their diesel vehicles. Hyundai is one of a range of earlier carmakers to be subjected to allegations of excessive NOx (nitrous oxide) production, having reportedly been fined in 2014 over the fuel economy and carbon emissions of its cars. We are  taking on Hyundai emissions compensation claims to ensure that all those who may have been affected by any alleged deceit relating to ‘dieselgate’ scandal types of issues can achieve justice.

As with others, the carmaker denies any wrongdoing. As advocates of consumer rights, it is important to us that all the emissions allegations against carmakers are thoroughly investigated in order for us to help as many affected customers as possible to achieve the justice that they deserve, where the law has been broken.

Hyundai and the diesel emissions allegations

The Volkswagen ‘dieselgate’ scandal raised huge awareness of the concept of defeat devices, which can consist of software fitted to diesel vehicles as a means of cheating emissions testing. As one of the first law firms in England and Wales to take on claims for the affected owners, we have played a key role in the Volkswagen emissions litigation, and have influenced the new waves of emissions claims that have developed since.

Hyundai is relatively unique among carmakers in that it was investigated over emissions allegations prior to the ‘dieselgate’ scandal of 2015. In 2014, Hyundai, alongside fellow South Korean carmaker Kia, was fined $100m for reportedly misleading customers about the carbon dioxide emissions output and fuel economy of over a million of its vehicles. It was said that Hyundai had gained an unfair market advantage by allegedly making false claims.

Since the Volkswagen emissions allegations emerged, Hyundai was subjected to independent testing that reportedly suggested that the carmaker’s diesel vehicles produce more NOx than is permitted by emissions regulations. Hyundai has denied the accusations that they have done anything wrong.

Making Hyundai emissions compensation claims

If Hyundai is found to have misled its customers, claimants could recover thousands of pounds through Hyundai emissions compensation claims. This is because the alleged deceit could constitute a severe breach of consumer law, as well as a breach of emissions regulations, if allegations are proven.

In addition, we may be able to apply the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations (CPUT) to certain cases, which could enable claimants to recover between 25% to 100% of the purchase price of their vehicles.

Claim today to join the fight or justice

If you make a Hyundai emission compensation claim, you are not only fighting to receive compensation, but also fighting to ensure that the carmaker is held to account for its alleged involvement in harmful NOx emissions issues, if allegations are proven. These damaging gases are capable of harming both the environment and human health, so it is vital that any guilty car manufacturers suffer repercussions for the damage they have caused if cheating has taken place.

We want to enable as many potentially affected owners as possible to claim compensation, which is why we offer a No Win, No Fee agreement to all our diesel emissions claimants. You can enter your details into our online form today to find out if you could be eligible for a Hyundai emissions compensation claim.
